Adventurous copywriter seeks like-minded business owners to get creative, shake things up and make an impression together.
If my business took out a lonely hearts ad that’s what it would say, because that’s what I do. I work with brands who want to stand out and do things their own way.
Based in Dundee, the sunniest city in Scotland (apparently), I work with clients across the world to help them speak from the heart and shoot from the hip.
How I got into copywriting
After studying English Literature (MA) and Publishing (MSc – bizarrely), I had a series of general communications type jobs and slowly realised it was the copywriting bits of these that got me out of bed in the morning.
I decided to focus on this and cut my teeth working in-house as a content writer for a university before going it alone. I made the move to freelancing at the end of 2016 because I wanted a shot at running the show.
Things I do
These are some things I can help you with:
- Web copy
- Blog posts
- Copywriting consultancy
- Email marketing
- Longform sales pages
- Product descriptions
- Social media content
These are things people sometimes ask me about, but that I don’t do at the moment:
- Website design and development
- Social media account management
- PR stuff
When I’m not writing, I like to get outside as much as possible. I’ve got a habit of picking up expensive hobbies – my two favourites being horse riding and snow sports (sorry, bank balance).
I also love to travel and try to go on at least two big trips a year. These have included South America, New Zealand and a winter season spent in the French Alps – the joys of freelancing!
