How it works

Here's what to expect when you hire me to write your web copy. My process is designed for minimal stress and maximal results.

Book an intro call
To get started, book a free 20 minute intro call with me to chat about your project. After you've booked, I'll send you a new client questionnaire to complete.
Project proposal
Based on our intro call I’ll package together the goals, deliverables, timeline and price in a project proposal.
Discuss your aims
During the intro call I’ll ask about your business, your aims and the copy you need me to write to support these.
Reserve your slot
If you decide to hire me, I’ll ask you to sign a contract and pay a 50% deposit to get your project in my diary.

Project kick-off

One hour kick-off meeting
You've hired me—awesome. Before I can get to work writing, we need to dive into the detail of your copy with a kick-off meeting.
Copy strategy
Following our kick-off meeting, I'll send you a summary of our discussion and outline the approach I plan to take with your copy.
You’ve already told me your goals but now it’s time to talk about tone of voice, key messages, style, your target audience and how you plan on measuring the success of your new copy.
Once you've signed this off, it's time for me to get to work on your first draft.

First draft

While I’m writing the first draft of your copy, I'll let you know how I'm getting on with regular progress updates.
Once my first draft is complete, I’ll send it to you for review in the format we've agreed (usually Google Docs but it can be a wireframe or on a staging site).


Feedback should be delivered to me within our agreed timeframe—usually around a week. After you’ve reviewed my work, I’ll make any tweaks needed within two working days.
Two rounds of revisions—one for substantive changes and one for final polishing—are included in my project quotes (within the scope of the original brief).


Launch your new copy
When you confirm you're happy with my work, I'll hand it over to you ready for launch.
Pay the bill
After final sign-off, I’ll send over an invoice for the remaining 50% balance to be paid within 15 days.
